- Power Query Editor > Manage Parameters creates a named value (a file path, a date, a threshold) other query steps can reference instead of a hardcoded value.
- Changing a parameter's value and refreshing re-runs the whole query against the new input -- no need to edit the M code itself.
- A parameter can be set to a list of allowed values, turning it into a dropdown so anyone maintaining the query can't enter something invalid.
