Microsoft and Excel
Microsoft, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft 365, Power Query, Power Pivot and Office are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation. This site is independent and unofficial: not affiliated with, authorised by, endorsed by or sponsored by Microsoft.
Those names are used here descriptively, because there is no other way to write about the software. Referring to "Excel" identifies the product being documented; it does not imply a relationship with its owner. Where this site links to Microsoft's own documentation, that is a link to a public page and nothing more.
The name "ExcelBack" is ours. It contains "Excel" for the same descriptive reason.
Other names and logos
The directory and the source list name a lot of other people's products, channels and platforms, and show their logos. Every one of those names and marks belongs to its owner. They appear here as attribution — to say accurately whose work we are pointing you at — and not as any claim of partnership or endorsement.
None of the organisations named on this site has endorsed it. The source list says so in as many words, and it is deliberately not headed "trusted by".
Logos are the platform's own icon files, used at small size for identification. If you own one of those marks and would rather it were not shown, ask and we will remove it — see below.
What we wrote
The articles, function explanations, tool interfaces, directory write-ups and the design of this site are our work and are protected by copyright. What you may do with them is set out in the terms of use, and it is more permissive than most: use anything you learn here in your own workbooks freely, commercially, with no attribution.
Formulas and techniques are a separate matter and are not claimed by anyone. A lookup pattern is not intellectual property. The prose explaining it is.
Video content
Where this site references YouTube videos, the videos remain the property of the channels that made them. We link and embed through YouTube's own player; we do not host, download, re-upload or modify anyone's video, and every video page credits and links the channel.
If you are a creator and want a video of yours removed from the directory or from a resource page, ask and it will be taken down.
Asking for something to be removed
If you believe something on this site infringes your copyright, or uses your trademark in a way you object to, email support@excelback.com and include:
- The URL on this site where the material appears.
- What the material is, and what you own — a link to the original if there is one.
- Your name and a contact address.
- A statement that you own the rights, or are authorised to act for whoever does.
You do not need a lawyer to write to us and you do not need to send a formal notice first. Nothing here is worth a dispute: if it is yours and you want it gone, it goes, and we will tell you when it is done.
Corrections
Separately from rights: if something here is simply wrong — a function described incorrectly, a resource attributed to the wrong author, a broken or misdirected link — that is worth an email too. Being accurate is the entire point of a reference.
Questions about this page, or anything else on this site: support@excelback.com. It is the only contact route the site has — there is no form here that submits to a server.
